A businessman from Hyderabad, with links to punters, bookies, and a history of involvement in corrupt activities, is reportedly trying to befriend individuals involved in the league.
Modus Operandi
The businessman is said to lure unsuspecting targets with expensive gifts, including jewelry, and has been spotted at team hotels and matches, attempting to befriend players and staff. He has also allegedly invited potential targets to private parties and offered gifts to team members and their families.
Warning to IPL Stakeholders
The Anti-Corruption Security Unit (ACSU) has urged all IPL stakeholders to report any interactions with the businessman and disclose any possible connections or engagements with him. Teams and individuals have been asked to remain alert and report any relevant approaches.
