Kashvee Gautam Earns Maiden ODI Call-Up for Sri Lanka Tri-Series
The BCCI has announced India's squad for the upcoming Women's Tri-Nation ODI series in Sri Lanka, featuring the hosts and South Africa. The series marks the return of regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who was rested for the home series against Ireland.
Notable omissions include injured fast bowlers Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, and Pooja Vastrakar, as well as top-order batter Shafali Verma.
The standout inclusion is Kashvee Gautam, who made a strong impression in this year's WPL with 11 wickets, joint-highest among Indian bowlers alongside Shikha Pandey. Gautam's ability as both a wily pacer and a power hitter further solidified her place in the squad. Other new additions are left-arm spinner N Shree Charani and Shuchi Upadhyay, who was named Player of the Tournament at last year's Senior Women's One-Day Trophy.
The Tri-Series begins on April 27 with India facing Sri Lanka, and the final is scheduled for May 11. Each team will play four matches, with the top two progressing to the final.
