Sanju Samson Set to Resume Captaincy and Wicket-Keeping Duties for RR
Sanju Samson has received full clearance from the BCCI's Centre of Excellence, allowing him to resume wicket-keeping duties in addition to batting. As a result, he will also reclaim the captaincy of the Rajasthan Royals for the remainder of the IPL season.
Background
Samson had initially been given permission to only bat in the IPL due to an operation on his right index finger. The Royals management used him as a batter and an Impact Player, temporarily handing over the captaincy to Riyan Parag.
Return to Action
Samson has now been given full permission to keep wickets and is expected to take back his role behind the wickets. He will join the Royals squad in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, ahead of their match against Punjab Kings on April 5.
Current Team Position
The Royals are currently placed ninth in the points table with one win from three games, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru lead the table with two wins from as many games.
