New Zealand Seal Series Win with Clinical Performance
New Zealand's Mitch Hay produced a career-best innings of 99* off 78 balls to help his team secure a series-sealing 84-run win over Pakistan in the second ODI in Hamilton. Hay's masterclass, combined with a clinical bowling performance, saw Pakistan bowled out for 208 in 41.2 overs.
New Zealand, put into bat, were struggling at 132/5 but Hay's innings propelled them to a total of 292 on a spicy pitch. Faheem Ashraf and concussion sub Naseem Shah managed to reduce the margin of defeat with fifties, but it was too little, too late.
Pakistan's top order collapsed, with all five batsmen falling for single digits. Ben Sears and Jacob Duffy led the way with the ball, taking five and three wickets respectively. Sears' 5-59 was the pick of the bowlers, while Duffy's 3-35 was also impressive.
