Chennai Super Kings' Head Coach Stephen Fleming on the team's loss to Rajasthan Royals

Stephen Fleming, the Chennai Super Kings head coach, expressed his disappointment over the team's six-run loss to Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati. He attributed the defeat to the team's struggles in the powerplay, where they conceded 79 runs in the first six overs, compared to Royals' 42 runs.

Fleming stated that the powerplay was the key difference in the game, and the team's inability to contain the opposition's batsmen was a major concern. He also praised the Royals' bowlers, particularly Wanindu Hasaranga, who took 4 wickets for 35 runs.

The coach also defended his decision to keep MS Dhoni lower down in the order, citing the veteran's physical limitations and the need to balance his batting with his other contributions to the team. Fleming expressed his optimism about the team's resilience and ability to bounce back from the loss, and emphasized the importance of understanding the opposition's strengths and weaknesses.

Fleming's comments highlighted the team's struggles with consistency and the need to improve their batting and bowling performances. Despite the loss, the coach remained positive and focused on the team's potential for growth and improvement.
