Sanju Samson Seeks Clearance to Keep Wickets

Sanju Samson has traveled to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) to seek full clearance for keeping wickets. He had initially received partial and temporary clearance to play in the IPL following surgery on his right index finger.

Current Situation

  • Samson had handed over the captaincy to Riyan Parag due to partial clearance.
  • He played as an Impact Player in the Royals' three games so far this season.
  • Sources indicate that his thumb injury has fully healed, and he feels fit enough to take up wicket-keeping duties.

Recent Performance

  • Samson has scored 66 (vs SRH), 13 (vs KKR), and 20 (vs CSK) in the three games he has played as a batter.
  • Dhruv Jurel kept wickets for the team in his absence.

  • Rajasthan Royals will face Punjab Kings on April 5.
