
Priyank Panchal's Unbeaten Century Propels Gujarat's Response to Kerala's 457
Gujarat ended Day 3 on a strong note, scoring 222/1 in response to Kerala's 457, with Priyank Panchal remaining unbeaten on 117.
The Gujarat openers started positively, scoring boundaries in almost every over for the first 13, reaching a quick half-century stand. They went to Lunch at 61 without loss and continued their momentum after the break.
Panchal played the second fiddle initially, while Arya Desai scored his half-century in 82 balls. Panchal soon caught up, reaching his milestone in 96 deliveries.
Nedumankuzhy Basil broke the 131-run opening stand by dismissing Desai for 73. Gujarat went to Tea at 146/1, with Panchal and Manan Hingrajia forging an unbroken 91-run stand.
Panchal reached his century in 155 deliveries, while Hingrajia remained unbeaten on 30. Gujarat trails Kerala by 235 runs with nine wickets still in hand.
Earlier, Mohammad Azharuddeen scored 177, remaining unbeaten as Kerala was bowled out for 457. Gujarat skipper Chintan Gaja picked up two of the last three wickets, returning figures of 2 for 75.
