Can Gujarat Giants finally crack the MI code?

Gujarat Giants (GG) face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the WPL 2025, with GG hoping to win their first match against MI in three editions. GG, led by Ash Gardner, started with a loss despite a strong opening against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Their sloppy fielding and dew cost them the match.

GG's death-overs bowling has been a concern, allowing RCB and UP Warriorz to score 113 and 140 in the last eight overs, respectively. Gardner and Deandra Dottin have led the team well, but they need more consistency from others.

MI lost their opening match due to contentious run-out calls and over-reliance on international stars. Only Nat Sciver-Brunt (80*) and Harmanpreet Kaur (42) scored significantly. MI needs more contributors and game-awareness from experienced players.
