Jammu and Kashmir pull off huge upset against Mumbai in Ranji Trophy

Jammu and Kashmir have entered the knockouts of the Ranji Trophy after a huge upset against Mumbai, potentially putting the domestic powerhouse at risk of an early exit from the championship. The result spoiled Rohit Sharma's comeback game into the domestic circuit.

Jammu and Kashmir's bowlers played a crucial role in their victory, bowling consistently in tight areas and challenging the Mumbai batting lineup. The pace bowlers, Auqib Nabi, Umar Nazir, and Yudhivir Singh, collectively claimed 18 wickets, exploiting the helpful conditions better than the Mumbai bowlers.

Mumbai's star-studded batting lineup, which included Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, and Shivam Dube, struggled to cope with the Jammu and Kashmir bowlers. Rohit Sharma and Jaiswal scored 31 and 30 runs respectively, but their ordinary outing was overshadowed by the Jammu and Kashmir bowlers' impressive performance.

Jammu and Kashmir are now on top of Elite Group A and have made it to the knockouts, while Mumbai, in third place, have a slim outside chance of qualifying. Mumbai will play Meghalaya from January 30 at home, with Rahane expressing confidence in their ability to learn from the game and come back stronger.
