Jay Shah, the new ICC Chair, met with IOC President Thomas Bach and other senior IOC officials to discuss key initiatives for cricket in the build-up to the LA 2028 Olympic Games. The meeting took place at the Olympic House in Lausanne, Switzerland, and ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice was also in attendance.

The focus of the meeting was on potential areas of collaboration between the ICC and the IOC, with an emphasis on promoting Olympic values within the cricketing world. This was the first time Shah had met with Bach.

Shah expressed his enthusiasm for the inclusion of cricket in the Olympic Games, stating that it represents a significant opportunity for transformative growth for the sport. He also mentioned that a range of critical issues were discussed and that the ICC looks forward to building relationships with the Olympic movement over the next three and a half years.

"It was a productive meeting and an important milestone on the road to LA 2028. We discussed a range of critical issues and continued to build relationships with our friends across the Olympic movement. We look forward to the next three and a half years working in collaboration with the IOC and LA 2028," Shah said.
