Rohit Sharma expresses reservations about new BCCI guidelines
Rohit Sharma, the India captain, appeared unenthusiastic about the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) recently-circulated guidelines regarding travel, family presence, and personal staff on tour.
During a conversation with Ajit Agarkar before a media conference, Rohit expressed the need to discuss the matter with the BCCI secretary, Devjit Saikia.
When questioned about the guidelines, Rohit questioned their authenticity, asking if they had come from an official end.
The guidelines include restrictions on family members and personal staff on tours, mandatory player participation in domestic cricket, and travel using official vehicles. These rules follow reports of senior players arranging their own travel during the recent tour of Australia.
Agarkar, the chief selector, seemed accepting of the strictures, stating that every team has rules and that these are not punishments.
These guidelines, while credible, have not been officially released by the BCCI or posted on their verified handle.
Agarkar emphasized the importance of following rules when representing the country, stating that these are mature individuals who inherently follow rules as part of representing their country. He mentioned that many rules have been in place and refined over time.
