Adelaide Strikers secure five-wicket win over Melbourne Renegades
Chris Lynn's power-packed innings of 88 off 51 balls guided Adelaide Strikers to a five-wicket victory over Melbourne Renegades, breaking their streak of three consecutive losses.
Chasing 142 on a challenging surface, Lynn's dominant performance was crucial as other Strikers batters struggled. His knock surpassed Josh Brown's 41-ball 66, which was the foundation of Renegades' innings.
Despite expectations of improved pitch conditions, the surface remained difficult. Brown was severe on spin, but his downfall triggered a collapse, with only 42 runs added off the last 38 deliveries.
In the chase, Strikers went hard at the bowlers, and Lynn overcame a shaky start to pummel the bowling around, scoring 104 runs with D'Arcy Short in the opening stand. Despite losing three wickets, the damage was already done, and Strikers secured a five-wicket win.
Brief scores:
- Melbourne Renegades: 142/8 (Josh Brown 66; Henry Thornton 3-22)
- Adelaide Strikers: 143/5 (Chris Lynn 88; Adam Zampa 2-29)
