BCB Chief Assures BPL Players Will Be Paid Amid Franchise Non-Compliance
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed has assured BPL players that they will receive payments from their respective franchises.
Uncertainty Over Players' Remuneration
The BCB has not received the required bank guarantee from any of the seven teams in the competition, except for the defending champions, Fortune Barishal. This has created uncertainty over the players' remuneration.
BCB President's Assurance
"We have been in communication with the BPL franchise owners since day one, and I've told them they must pay the players," Faruque told reporters.
Franchise Representatives' Response
Durbar Rajshahi captain Anamul Haque Bijoy expressed no concern about the delayed payments, saying "We want to approach the BPL positively. The owners won't leave without paying us, and the BCB will ensure it is resolved."
BCB's Plan to Ensure Payments
The BCB has taken various steps to ensure that players receive their payments, including speaking with franchise representatives to emphasize the importance of paying the players.
