Renegades edge Scorchers in low-scoring thriller
Melbourne Renegades secured a two-wicket win over Perth Scorchers, their first win since December 2020. Cooper Connolly's 50-ball 66 went in vain as Scorchers were limited to 143/8. Only two Scorchers batters managed double-digit scores.
Renegades Chase
Renegades lost Jake Fraser-McGurk early. However, Josh Brown and Tim Seifert made explosive starts but departed quickly. Jacob Bethell and Laurie Evans continued the carnage with a 54-run stand. Renegades kept chipping in with wickets but multiple dropped chances, missed run-outs, and close calls helped them.
Scorchers Innings
Renegades pacers, with some movement, dismissed Keaton Jennings and Finn Allen early. Josh Inglis and Ashton Turner were sent back soon after. Cooper Connolly and Matthew Spoors revived the innings, taking Scorchers to a respectable total. Tom Rogers took 3-22.
