Shamim Hossain on Bangladesh's T20I Series Win
Bangladesh clinched the three-match T20I series by taking a 2-0 lead over West Indies, with Shamim Hossain playing a crucial role with the bat. He provided late resistance with a blistering unbeaten knock of 35 off 17 balls, including two fours and two sixes, and his 41-run stand with Tanzim Hasan Sakib lifted Bangladesh to a competitive total.
Shamim attributed his success to his positive thinking, saying, "I always think that however situation the team is in, if I play well, we'll reach a decent total. I always have the positive thinking." He also expressed his confidence in his abilities, stating, "I played well in HP, emerging team and wherever I played and that's why I was confident of doing well."
Shamim's performance was a significant factor in Bangladesh's win, and he was adjudged player of the match. He also spoke about his comeback to the team after a year's absence, saying, "I don't think that much (on when I will make a comeback when I was away from the team) and I just tried to keep a positive mindset and stay happy."
Looking ahead, Shamim emphasized that he still has a long way to go and is currently working on his fitness and batting. He concluded, "This is just the beginning. I have a long way to go. Let's see."
