Nahid Rana added to Bangladesh T20I squad against West Indies
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Sunday that they have included pace bowler Nahid Rana in the squad for the T20 international series against the West Indies.
The Bangladesh team is in St Vincent where the matches are scheduled on 16, 18 and 20 December.
The 22-year-old Rana has already appeared in six Tests and three ODIs for Bangladesh but is yet to debut in Twenty20 internationals.
Bangladesh T20I skipper Litton Kumar Das said they are confident while gearing up for the three-match T20 series against the West Indies, set to begin at the Arnos Vale Stadium.
Bangladesh are looking to turn the tables in the T20Is after being swept away in the three-match ODIs. They have fond memories of the venue, where they defeated Nepal and the Netherlands during this year's T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh's preparation was disrupted due to rain on the eve of the match but Litton, who has been given the captaincy role in absence of Najmul Hossain, dismissed any concerns about their readiness.
"Most of the players in this team have played both ODIs and Tests, so they are in touch with the game," Liton said.
Liton acknowledged that West Indies are a tough opponent in their own backyard, particularly in the shortest format.
"Usually, T20 matches are challenging for us. Since this will be played at the West Indies' home ground, it will be a bit tough. We will try to figure out how to overcome this and focus on playing a good series," he added.
