Australia Trounces India by 10 Wickets in Adelaide
Australia captain Pat Cummins praised his team's performance in the drawn Border-Gavaskar Trophy match against India, saying they were "lucky" to have players like Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, and Scott Boland in their ranks.
Key Performances
- Travis Head scored his eighth Test century, a blistering innings featuring 17 fours and 4 sixes in a run-a-ball 140, which left India with no way back in the match.
- Mitchell Starc picked 6 for 48 in the first innings, his best Test figures, and Scott Boland filled in admirably for Josh Hazlewood, finishing with five wickets in the match.
Team Effort
Cummins highlighted the team's effort, saying: "Some of the talk this week was about whether we have enough bowling. Particularly that day one, thought it was a herculean effort from Starcy and Scotty. It was hot, close to 40 degrees, humid and basically just kept rotating the bowlers all day. Huge effort from those guys, showed their class."
Series Update
The match levelled the series, with Australia now 1-1. Cummins expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance, saying: "Great week. Great to level the series. This week we were back to our best, the team I remember and how we want to play our cricket, so really satisfying."
Upcoming Match
The team is looking forward to the Brisbane Test, with Josh Hazlewood expected to return to the line-up. Cummins said: "It's going to plan so far. Fairly confident he'll be right for Brisbane. We'll know more in the next couple of days."
