Gus Atkinson's Hat-trick and Greed for More
Gus Atkinson, the 25-year-old English bowler, has achieved a hat-trick in his second Test match against New Zealand, becoming the 14th player for England to do so.
Reflecting on the Achievement
Atkinson said he felt "greedy" and motivated to do "more" for England after the bright start to his career. He reflected on the hat-trick, saying it was a great feeling, but not something he thought about as a bowler. He prefers to focus on taking five or ten wickets.
The Hat-trick Wickets
Atkinson picked three wickets off three balls, getting Nathan Smith, Matt Henry, and Tim Southee out. He said he fully went for the bluff, bowling a yorker and trying to get the stumps. He had a hunch about picking a hat-trick when he was running in to bowl to Southee.
Favourite Achievement
Atkinson's favourite achievement so far in his short career is scoring his maiden Test hundred against Sri Lanka. He said it was a great feeling and his favourite moment in his career.
