Josh Hazlewood Ruled Out of Adelaide Test

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the second Test against India in Adelaide due to a low-grade left side injury. He will be replaced by Scott Boland, who is part of the original squad.

Hazlewood's Replacement

Scott Boland will take Hazlewood's place in the squad. Boland last played in the Ashes Test in Leeds in 2023 and will be in action during the two-day warm-up game for the Prime Ministers XI.

Uncapped Pacers Added to Squad

Sean Abbott and Brendan Doggett have been added to the squad. Abbott has 261 first-class wickets to his name and has been on the fringes of the Test squad for a while. Doggett has been impressive in the Sheffield Shield, picking up a five-fer against Western Australia recently.

Hazlewood's Statistics

Hazlewood has been a significant performer for Australia, picking up 5 for 8 in 5 overs against India in Adelaide in 2021. He also made a good start to the current series in Perth, picking 4 for 29 in the first innings.

Abbott and Doggett's Statistics

Abbott has picked 4 for 71 in 16 overs against Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield. Doggett has bagged a five-fer against Western Australia and has 11 wickets in three Shield fixtures. He also turned heads with his career-best returns of 6 for 15 in the A game against India A.
