RCB Bags Bhuvneshwar Kumar for INR 10.75 Cr
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made a significant move in the IPL 2025 mega auction by signing Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a whopping INR 10.75 crores. This deal marks the first time a player has breached the INR 10 crore mark in the auction.
Indian Fast Bowlers in Demand
The second day of the auction saw Indian fast bowlers in high demand. Deepak Chahar was snapped up by Mumbai Indians for INR 9.25 crores, while Delhi Capitals used an RTM option to bring back Mukesh Kumar for INR 8 crores. Akash Deep was also signed by the Lucknow Super Giants for the same amount.
Overseas Quicks
Among overseas quicks, Marco Jansen was signed by Punjab Kings for INR 7 crores, beating out Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans.
All-Rounders in Focus
The all-rounders set saw some competitive bidding, with RCB signing Krunal Pandya for INR 5.75 crores after a protracted battle with Rajasthan Royals. Nitish Rana was also the subject of a bidding war, with Rajasthan Royals winning the bid for INR 4.2 crores.
Other Notable Signings
Chennai Super Kings were reunited with Sam Curran for INR 2.4 crores, while Faf du Plessis found a home at Delhi Capitals for his base price of INR 2 crores. Mumbai Indians bolstered their bowling attack by acquiring Allah Ghazanfar for INR 4.8 crores, while Washington Sundar was signed by Gujarat Titans for INR 3.2 crores.
