Mushfiqur Unavailable, Najmul Doubtful for West Indies ODIs
Bangladesh Cricket Board officials have confirmed that experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim is unavailable for the ODI series against West Indies due to a finger fracture. Skipper Najmul Hossain is also doubtful as he is recovering from a groin injury.
Mushfiqur's Injury
Mushfiqur injured the tip of his left index finger while keeping wickets in the first ODI against Afghanistan. An X-ray confirmed a fracture that will keep him out of action for four to six weeks.
Najmul's Injury
Najmul sustained a groin injury while fielding in the second ODI against Afghanistan. He underwent scans that revealed a Grade II strain on his left groin, forcing him to miss the Test series against West Indies.
BCB's Decision
A BCB official confirmed that Mushfiqur will not be able to make it to the ODIs against West Indies as he needs more time to recover. The official also stated that Najmul's progress will be monitored before announcing the squad for the ODI series.
Impact on the Team
The ODI series against West Indies is scheduled to begin on December 8, followed by the T20I series starting on December 16. The BCB is taking a cautious approach with Najmul's injury, not wanting to risk further damage that could keep him out of cricket for one to one and a half months.
