Bangladesh's New Assistant Coach Salahuddin on Creating a Platform for Local Coaches
Interview Excerpts:
Mohammad Salahuddin, the newly appointed senior assistant coach of the Bangladesh men's team, expressed his goal of creating a platform for the local coaching community to make it to the national set-up in a recent statement.
"A coach's job is to show a player the way. They will play in the ground. As a coach, I think this is the biggest challenge for me to make them think that they will dominate world cricket in future." – Salahuddin
He emphasized the importance of guiding players in setting their next targets and understanding their goals, both inside and outside the dressing room.
"If we can provide clearer ideas on this, they can have a brighter future ahead. Current players have the mentality, if they get the right direction, they will dream bigger then." – Salahuddin
Salahuddin also took the opportunity to express his gratitude to the newly appointed president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Faruque Ahmed, for bringing about the change.
"I will give credit to Faruque bhai for this. He has called me a number of times and said it was necessary that I joined the team." – Salahuddin
In his statement, Salahuddin reiterated his desire to help the next generation of players, using his experience and knowledge to make a positive impact.
'I can use my experience on a broader platform. I worked here for five years before, that was a different generation. I will try to help the players from my experience, be it mentally, technically or tactically.' – Salahuddin
