Bangladesh Implode in Batting, Suffer 92-Run Defeat

Bangladesh's preparations for next year's Champions Trophy in Pakistan took a hit as they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Afghanistan. Allah Ghazanfar, the 18-year-old offspinner, picked six wickets to dismantle the Bangladesh batting lineup.

Turning Point of the Match

Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi made a smart field change in the 26th over, luring Najmul Hossain Shanto to sweep against the turn, resulting in a top-edged catch by Shahidi at short fine leg. This turning point in the match opened the Bangladesh lineup to Ghazanfar's attack.

Ghazanfar's Hat-Trick

Ghazanfar continued to wreak havoc, taking 3 wickets in an over and leaving Bangladesh in a precarious position at 8 for 138. He finished with 6 wickets for 26 runs, including two carrom balls and two leg-before wickets.

Bangladesh Bowling Effort

Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman led the Bangladesh bowling effort, taking 4 wickets each to restrict Afghanistan to 234 in 50 overs. Nangeyalia Kharote's unbeaten 27 added valuable runs towards the end of Afghanistan's innings.

Match Summary

Afghanistan 234/9 (Mohammad Nabi 84, Hashmatullah Shahidi 52; Taskin Ahmed 4/53, Mustafizur Rahman 4/58)

Bangladesh 143/10 (Najmul Hossain Shanto 47; Allah Ghazanfar 6/26)
