Brisbane Heat Defeats Melbourne Renegades in Women's Big Bash League Match

Brisbane Heat recorded their second consecutive win in the Women's Big Bash League, defeating Melbourne Renegades by 28 runs. The Heat posted a total of 169/8 in 20 overs, with Georgia Redmayne scoring 44 off 39 balls and Laura Harris contributing 31 off 16 balls in the late order.

Key Partnerships Propel Brisbane Heat to Competitive Total
The Heat's total was built on several key partnerships, including a 44-run start by Redmayne and Lauren Winfield-Hill, and a 44-run surge in the final 15 overs led by Harris and Jess Jonassen. This surge brought the team past the 120-run mark and set up a competitive total.

Bowling Display by Melbourne Renegades Falls Short

Hayley Matthews started strongly for Renegades, scoring 35 off 22 balls in the PowerPlay. However, Jess Jonassen responded by turning to her leg-spinner Grace Parsons, who took out Matthews and Alice Capsey to tilt the momentum back in favour of the Heat. Parsons then took out Deandra Dottin in her next over, and later bowled a double-wicket over with Shikha Pandey to further peg back the Renegades' chase.
